Community guidelines
The Exchange is a board run by and for farms in Walton County and Northwest Florida. It works because the people on it are neighbours. These are the rules that keep it that way.
What we ask of everyone
- Be honest and accurate in your listings.
- Treat others with respect.
- Meet in a safe, public place where you can.
- Keep the conversation on the platform until you have agreed.
- Report anything that looks like a scam.
Every listing is read before it appears
A new listing goes into a moderation queue, not onto the board. A moderator reads it and either publishes it or explains why they have not. Editing a live listing’s title, description or photographs puts it back in the queue, so approval cannot be won with one wording and replaced with another.
Anyone signed in can report a listing or a message. Reports go to the same moderators, and a listing can be taken down at any time.
What “Verified Member” means
The badge appears on a listing posted on behalf of a farm whose profile has been reviewed and published by Harvest Hub Walton. That means a person here read the farm’s profile and confirmed it describes a real operation in this region.
It does not mean any of the following. We have not inspected the equipment. We have not checked anyone’s insurance, licences or finances unless the listing says so and shows you the paperwork. We have not verified that what a listing says is true. A badge is a starting point for trusting someone, not a substitute for it.
A listing posted by an individual rather than for a published farm carries no badge. That is not a warning about them — most members are individuals. It only means there is no reviewed farm profile behind the listing.
Your contact details stay yours
Replies go through messages on this site. A poster’s email address and phone number are never rendered on a public page, and they reach the person who responded only if the poster chose to share them. Nobody can message you out of the blue: a conversation can only start from a listing one of you posted.
What this platform does not do
If something is wrong
Use the report link on any listing, or get in touch. If you believe you are in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement first — we are a small team and cannot respond at that speed.
